Trick or Treating!

The kids had a great time trick or treating tonight. Since the weather was so nice (in the 60's on Halloween night!) I took the kids out trick or treating and Jason was happy to have a turn to stay home and pass out the candy. I added a couple of Lisanne before her school party. She was a cute little witch for that but opted for the doggy costume for trick or treating. They all made out like bandits on the candy!

Pumpkin Carving Night

Tonight we had a blast carving our pumpkins! Kelsey and Dallin did theirs almost on their own with very little help. Lisanne drew her own scary face and then Daddy cut it out. Mckay wanted his to be the scariest so daddy did a great job at making him a scary one! Fun stuff!

Temple Square Day

The kids had Thursday and Friday off of school. On Friday Jason took the day off and we headed down to temple square. First we went to the Church Museum of History and Art. It was Amazing! Here is Jason, me, and Dallin in front of a huge stained glass window of Joseph Smith's vision.

There was a children s section with tons of fun things for the kids to do. Dallin was attracted to this one of course. He loves to build and they had blocks to build temples with. There were also dress ups of all kinds of nativity clothing and a wooden nativity with little stuffed animal sheep to play with. There were all kinds of fun things for the kids!
Dallin and the finished product.
After the museum we went to the beehive house which is Brigham Young's house that he lived in and got a tour. That was very cool but I didn't take any pictures there. Next we had lunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and then went and had a tour of the conference center. That was all of our favorites! The Spirit of the Lord is so strong in that building. It is an absolutely amazing place that was built with much talent and MUCH inspiration!

At the last part of our tour we got to go onto the roof of the conference center. There is a big fountain there that the kids got to put their hands in.We had a great view of the Salt Lake temple on the roof. The kids thought it was sooo neat!Mckay and Lisanne looking at the temple. These are pictures at the bottom outside the conference center in front of the waterfall.
My favorite parts I really didn't take picts of though. There were some new painting up of the first presidency and quorum of the twelve apostles that were gorgeous! I felt the spirit so strongly testify to me again as it has so many times in the past that these are the Lords true messengers! How thankful I am for a living prophet to guide us in these troubled times. In that same long hallway on the other side of the hall was a painting depicting the Lord Jesus Christ with His original 12 apostles. And then you could look to the other side and see the current 12. What a powerful message! The paintings were absolutely gorgeous and so well done. I wanted to stare at each one of them but didn't have much time with little ones. All of the artwork there of the stories in the bible and Book of Mormon are so incredible and wonderful. Art can truly help me to feel the spirit.

Fun at Packs Farms

My friend Jodi told me about this fun place called packs farms. They had this really cute little hay maze for the kids. My kids took turns playing hide and seek in it. Kelsey or Dallin would count and the other three would go hide and K or D had to find them. They were having a blast!
There were these fun little things to stick your head in. Of course that was a hit!
Mckay trying to be a scary witch.
There was a bin with a bunch of scarecrow hats to try on and then you could go and sit by the stuffed scarecrow's and take your picture.
